In 2003, Guru & Jana planted the seed for a visionary aspiration. From that small beginning, we carefully nurtured and nourished our shared vision, watching it germinate into a diverse group of like-minded individuals forming the roots of a solid foundation.
Our journey took a significant leap in 2010 when we embarked on a mission to be among the Top 20 Chartered Accountancy firms in India by 2020 - we called it Vision 202020. As we glance the past decade, we cherish the journey with pride. However, our 600+ team is not resting on our laurels; we are continually striving for more, setting new targets, and aspiring to reach greater heights with unique visions.
Our actions, attitudes, and values have helped us branch out and diversify into authoring 3 books, of which one is a national best seller, starting each day with a shared anthem, educating 250+ children, and working towards uplifting the social sector. We are committed to making a difference, both in our industry and in society, and we invite you to join us on this journey of growth and impact.

We believe in the power of unity and teamwork. One of the ways we foster this spirit is by starting our day with a special anthem that we've created for our organization. This anthem has a unique story behind it that reflects our journey towards becoming a close-knit team.
It started as a simple process on the day a new member joins the family. One might have felt shy and wondered what others would think when we all began singing the anthem. But after a week, the new member would have slowly started humming along with the team, and soon enough, everyone would have found themselves closing their eyes during the anthem and singing along with the rest of the family.
We understand that the more consistently we do things, the more it becomes internalized within us. That's why we sing our anthem with happiness and a smile on our faces. It's a reminder of our shared purpose, and it inspires us to work towards our goals with renewed vigour and enthusiasm.

Mahatria Guru & Jana Foundation is a non-profit organization that was instituted on 21st January 2013 with the objective of providing an opportunity for competitive education to children. The foundation has implemented various initiatives to fulfil its objective and has provided scholarships to 250+ deserving students year on year from the last decade.
One of the unique initiatives taken up by Mahatria Guru & Jana Foundation is the launch of a postal stamp.
In addition to providing educational opportunities, the foundation also helps needy and deserving CA article trainees by covering their exam registration fees. This initiative is aimed at enabling students to pursue their education without any financial constraints.

He began as an article intern with the organisation and joined after his stint with GT. A fitness enthusiast who also teaches yoga in office occasionally. He is referred to as the “ageless wonder” in the firm.

Gopal is a spiritual and devout member of the team who leads corporate accounting services. His specialisation is in the start-up ecosystem, fund accounting and the automation of accounting processes, he currently heads Operations of Guru & Jana’s associate company, Hi- Fidelity Solutions Pvt Ltd. He is referred to as “devoted” in the firm.

Guru is the co-founder of the firm, with an expertise in growth and technology initiatives and a focus on Board advisory. His background in both business and finance has helped him author several books like ‘God in the Boardroom’, ‘Banter Beyond the Buck’, with a feature in the National Bestseller “Breakthrough”. An alumnus of IIMB, he holds positions on several boards and advises various universities, indicating his strong commitment to both education and professional development. He is referred to as the “heart” of the firm.

Heena is a highly skilled and empathetic leader, dedicating her time to her role as Trustee of Mahatria Guru & Jana Foundation and consolidating multi-billion financial statements with a specialisation in IFC. She played a pivotal part in facing all the peer reviews, international reviews of our firm. She single handedly holds the flag of our Mahatria Guru & Jana Foundation high. She is referred to as the “Foundation Trustee” of the firm.

Jana is the co-founder of the firm, with a specialisation in tax representation and experience in appearing before Tribunals. Having been a Trustee of well-known NGO’s, his contribution to authoring books and leading new infrastructure development within the organisation shows his willingness to commit to diverse tasks, responsibilities, philanthropy and strong financial acumen. He is referred to as the “money bank” in the firm.

“Technology is best when it brings people together”
Being a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in audit, Neelima demonstrated her leadership skills and willingness to grow by repositioning herself for Guru & Jana to head the technology powered business scalable solutions vertical. Her expertise lies in building technology solutions to improve financial processes, manage HR and customer relations, and provide data driven dashboards. She renders solutions under a philosophy of frugal but effective tech. She is referred to as the “poetess” in the firm.

Pankaj is the head of our Pune Office. His communication skills have given him a strong presence in the public domain, television, and news media. His strategic thinking with a strong focus on growth and expansion have enabled jobs for over 9,000 accountants. He is admired in the organisation for his deep reverence for the Holy Gita. He is referred to as the “Maratha Bharatiya.”

Prashanth is a founder member of Guru & Jana and has an exceptional record of establishing a daily knowledge update since 2003 without missing a single day. He is the head of the tax practice in the firm with a specialisation in international taxation. His impressive knowledge and experience is shared in the two books he has written - “Where Did My Profits Go?”, a book on GST and international tax and “₹ & 179 more” on FEMA, he has shared working in the field. He is referred to as the “Mister Cool” in the firm.
Punit

Punit is a partner at the Pune branch of Guru & Jana, where he specializes in the HNI vertical, focusing on taxation, succession planning, and estate planning initiatives. Outside of his finance profession, Punit has a passion for cricket and has the potential to be an amazing cricketer. Punit is referred to as “working robot” in the firm.

Sri’s formidable team of 65 corporate secretaries and associates were built up from one team member when she joined Guru & Jana a decade ago. Resourceful, empathetic, and very motivated, she heads the practice of corporate governance, HR, and Payroll teams. Sri has added value to her function by crafting an AI-based dashboard matrix for corporates. A large portion of the firm's income is generated from the ‘India entry services’ which she oversees. She is referred to as “Ra’s angel”.

Surendra is a founder member of Guru & Jana with a passion for excellence. He is a highly accomplished and respected leader in the field of audit and risk management, known for building exceptional teams and expertise in audit and risk advisory with a strong emphasis on data-driven solutions. Vijay Raja

Vijay Raja is a highly accomplished professional with diverse qualifications and expertise. His triple qualification as a Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant and Company Secretary, an IBC qualification plus his additional MA in Psychology brings in a wealth of knowledge and gives him a unique perspective when dealing with clients and colleagues. Raja has also been an academician, has trained over 40,000 CA students and written books on corporate Law and Taxation. He is the partner in charge of the consulting team with skills in valuations, structures, and diligence in addition to being an independent director. He is referred to as the “chocolate-hero” in the firm.

Deepak was the co-founder of Hi-Fidelity Solutions Pvt Ltd and the reputed audit firm Tambakad & Goil. He has been a director in many private limited companies and is an exemplary leader in the profession for 3 decades. His forte is his deep knowledge in the management, and compliances of VC/PE Funds. Deepak is a management team member, contributing to the areas of governance, board matters, SEBI reporting.
